We went out of town this past weekend to visit family. We had not seen this in several years so we were very happy to visit. While we were visiting we went out to eat for every meal. The food was delicious but expensive. We were shocked to see the $100+ breakfast bill. Granted there were several people eating but it would have taken a lot of breakfast food to equal $100 if we had cooked at home. All in all, it was a $700 food weekend.
In a few weeks different family members are planning a trip to our house. We have decided that we want to make meals at the house to avoid the over spending we did at the last family get together. I am already preparing the food selections. The thinking is that if we leave it up in the air, it is easy to make the decision to eat out instead of eating at home. This also gives me the ooportunity to buy a small kitchen appliance I have wanted for a while. My mother in law got the Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler
for Christmas and I have wanted one too. Since we are planning on making breakfast for multiple people I am also getting the Cuisinart GR-WAFP Griddler Waffle Plates
. The plates turn the Cuisinart Griddler into a waffle maker
that makes 4 waffles at a time. We already have a griddle pan to make the bacon and eggs on. When we don’t have company over we can use the Cuisinart Griddler to make our entire breakfast, but with extended family the griddle wont be able to cook enough food for the crowd.
